3 EASY STEPS TO APPLY GEL NAIL POLISH AT HOME

A few words of wisdom before you start your manicure. Prepping your nails thoroughly will ensure a long-lasting and chip-free gel manicure and help the gel nail polish to adhere to your nails. Work in a well-ventilated space. Do not apply our product in direct sunlight or outdoors, as our product is light sensitive.

STEP 1: PREPARE

BASE COAT GEL METHOD

Start with pushing back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher or with the slanted edge of the manicure stick. It’s important that the cuticle area is clean and free from debris when you apply the gel as this might stop the gel polish from adhering to the nail. • File and shape nails. Lightly buff the shine off the natural nail, being careful not to over buff the nail. Remove any remaining dust from the nail.

• Clean the nails with the Gel Cleanser using a lint free wipe. Apply one layer of Gel Primer sparingly to the nail. Allow this to air dry for 15 seconds. Apply a thin layer of the Gel Base Coat, then cure for 30 seconds under the LED nail lamp.

PEEL-OFF BASE COAT METHOD • Prep your nails as above but there is no need to apply gel primer • Apply a thin layer of the Peel Off Base Coat and let it air dry.

STEP 2: GEL COLOUR

Shake the Colour Gel Polish well, to thin out the formula. Apply an even layer over the entire nail. The best way to apply gel polish is not to start too close to the cuticle. Start a bit further up the nail then ‘push’ gel polish gently towards the cuticle without it touching. Then pull one stroke up the center, one up each side and finally ‘cap’ the nail by running the brush horizontally over the tip. Wait a few seconds for it to even out perfectly, before you cure it.

When needed, use the provided manicure stick to clean cuticle area. Cure the nail for 30 seconds under the LED nail lamp.

STEP 3: PROTECT

Finish by applying a thin even layer of Gel Top Coat. Again, make sure the polish doesn’t touch the cuticle or the skin alongside the nails. Cure the nails for 30 seconds under the LED nail lamp. Remove the tacky layer using the Gel Cleanser and Lint-Free wipes.

WHAT DO YOU NEED

  • A file – to shape and buff the nails
  • Gel nail primer
  • Colour Gel Polish
  • LED nail lamp
  • Cuticle pusher / manicure stick
  • Gel cleanser
  • Base coat or peel-off base coat
  • Top coat
  • Lint-free wipes

TOP TIPS

The more often you use gel polish, the easier you’ll find applying it. One of the benefits of gel polish is that it doesn’t dry gradually like normal nail polish, so you can make sure your manicure is perfect before you use the LED lamp to set it. Here are our top tips on how to apply for the best results:

  • Apply your polish in thin, even layers for a precise coating. To remove extra polish from the brush, circle the inside neck of the bottle and press the excess gel polish off the stem of the brush.
  • Be sure not to get any product on your skin or cuticle. If you do get any gel polish on your skin, remove it with a cuticle stick dipped in cleanser or gel nail polish remover before you put your hand under the lamp. This avoids gel polish setting on the skin, which can cause lifting.
  • We recommend first applying the gel to both thumbs, and curing them together.
  • Do not touch your nails after curing, this can cause indents or unwanted imprints on your nails.
